You can’t have a room full of alpha males. After all, implicit in the idea of the alpha is that everyone else must, by definition, be at best beta. They want a perfect balance of being able to do things on their own, while also needing them the alpha male to help out. He’s certainly all about competition and comparison. Alpha males look for a woman who is not entirely alpha but not meek either. He’s probably, even in this day and age, secretly still a bit sexist. The term refers to charismatic, attractive men who are successful. Invariably, this type of guy spends an unhealthy amount of time in exclusively male company. You can be rich or handsome, but lack the characteristics that make a man the alpha male.
For many it will suggest the kind of testosterone-fuelled, cocksure, crotch-thrusting type obsessed with his salary and his weekend triathlon training.
